Our tree nursery produces quality assured seedlings for sale to farmers throughout Kenya and to neighbouring countries. The nursery is certified by Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS).

CAUTION! Cheptebo seedlings are sold only from our nursery in Cheptebo. Any other suppliers claiming to provide Cheptebo seedlings do not receive their stock from our nurseries.

Mango Seedlings

The Cheptebo Centre farm has evaluated many mango varieties and now recommend the following varieties for the Kerio Valley area. All these varieties are available for sale.

Our staff will be pleased to advise on the most suitable varieties for your situation and on a selection of varieties to extend the mango harvest period. The Mango Drying factory on the project site will only accept Apple mango for drying purposes. Pawpaw may also be required for drying in future.

Banana

Banana production is well suited to the area. In order to make adequate supplies of planting material available the nursery obtains banana plantlets from Jomo Kenyatta University. These plantlets are produced by a tissue culture technique under laboratory conditions. They are then grown on in the Cheptebo nursery until they are ready for sale and planting.

Citrus

Orange and other citrus varieties are grown on the farm and seedlings for orange, lemon, tangerine (pixie orange) and other varieties are available in the nursery.

Pawpaw

Pawpaw is a fast growing tree with fruit which finds a ready market. Pawpaw can also be interplanted with mango or citrus to provide a harvest before the other trees begin to bear fruit.

Sunrise Solo and Malkia f1 (dwarf) and local varieties are available now. New varieties Calina f1 (dwarf) and Malaysia f1 are also available.
